Product Details

A superb pair of antique diamond drop earrings circa 1900 - 1915. Possibly of European origins thanks to the style of manufacture and with the metal testing at 14ct gold and silver, we can only speculate though. The principle stone is suspended within a pear shape section which is further suspended at the bottom of the earrings with multiple points of articulation meaning there is fabulous movement to these earrings. Solid hook ear wires with a hinged triangular safety clasp.

Metal: 14ct gold and silver.

Marks: Unmarked. Tests indicate 14ct gold and what is no doubt going to be sterling silver.

Measurements: 30mm top to bottom. 7.5mm wide at the upper section where the three diamond are and then 6.5mm wide at the bottom pear shape section.

Stones: The principle diamonds are Old European cuts, each approximately 0.20ct, assessed as colour H/I, clarity VS. Each earring has an additional total of approximately 0.12ct of smaller Old European cuts with a few rose cuts seen just above the principle stone. Total diamond weight across both earrings approximately 0.64ct.

Weight: 3 grams.

Condition: Very good. Possible signs of repair to the tops where the ear wires have inevitably been repaired. Given that they are 110+ years old we think they are looking very good. We have not polished these or silver dipped them, which would bring the silver settings up to a high polish finish. This can be done at the point of sale upon request. We tend to keep old things looking old but we are happy to clean and polish at the client’s request.
