Answers to common your questions

  • Where do you ship to?

We ship to all corners of the globe. Some countries impose restrictions on articles of jewellery made of precious metals or containing gemstones such as pearls and coral so we ask that you make sure you are allowed to import your chosen item to your destination country.

  • Will I pay import duties?

Different countries impose various import taxes, often based on the age and purchase price of the article. We ask that you look into your countries policies and laws before purchasing. It may well be the case where purchasing an antique that you will pay a reduced price.

We are happy to help where possible but we will NOT mark the article as a gift nor will we show a reduced price on the customs forms.

There are no additional taxes for UK deliveries.

  • Who is your payment provider?

We use Stripe as our payment provider. It allows for purchases using all major credit cards.

Jewellery

  • Can you resize rings?

We are able to resize pretty much all of our rings to your desired size. If you know your size, please do get in contact.

  • Do you undertake repairs?

We only undertake very selected repairs. Please contact us in advance with a brief description of what your needs are however please do not be offended if we do not take on the job. Our workshop time is mostly dedicated to our outgoing sales and the restoration of fine jewellery ready for going on the website.

  • Do you buy jewellery?

Absolutely yes. We are however very selective of what we purchase and there are many factors that will influence our buying decisions but it is always worth asking.

  • Are all your items suitable for daily use?

Simply put, no. Some items really would not take kindly to being put under the stresses and strains of everyday life. We can advise you though on how suitable any particular piece would be for you.

  • Is everything hallmarked?

No. The hallmarking legislation is a terribly complex beast. There are many items that 100 years ago would have been omitted from hallmarking such as lockets and items made of mixed metals. In fact anything made before 1975 that contained platinum would not be hallmarked.

  • If something is not hallmarked, does it mean it is old?

No. There are some very dubious practices out there where modern manufactures are making reproduction art deco items in platinum, not having them hallmarked, and being sold as antique. We have acquired a few of these pieces as they are sometimes very well made but the difference with us is that we will hallmark them ourselves. We offer full disclosure.
