Safe Deposit Box Storage

Secure storage in East Anglia.

Since 2015 we have been East Anglia’s only private safe deposit box facility. Thanks to our well established security and long running history of handling high value items, we have been able to offer this service at a time when major high street banks close their storage services.

Intended initially for the storage of jewellery, we now have five sizes of box available giving a solution to almost all requirements. The safe deposit box units are housed within our vault which was built in the 1980s and has since had significant security upgrades.

Our premises are surrounded by occupied residential properties, covered by 24 hour CCTV and is only 0.1 miles from Norwich’s Bethel Street police station.

General Questions

We have a number of frequently asked questions which we hope you find useful.

Please contact us if you require further assistance.

  • What are the requirements for opening a safe deposit box?

You must be at least 18 years of age.

We require two forms of identification. A passport and a drivers license are perfect. If you only have one of these then we will require a recent utilities bill or council tax bill showing your name and address.

  • What can I store in my safe deposit box?

You can store pretty much anything that holds a value, be it intrinsic or sentimetntal, so long as it is legal under current British law. Prohibited items include illegal substances, firearms, illegal or indecent images or any proceeds of crime.

  • Why should I trust you with my valuables?

We are a long established family company rather than a pop up safe deposit box facility cashing in on the banks closing their storage services. We are not going anywhere as we own the building where the vault is housed meaning we are immune from nasty rent increases putting stain on the business which inevitably leads to closure.

  • How do I gain access to my deposit box?

You can access your safe deposit box at any time we are open, free of charge. Please bring your ID with you so our staff can confirm your identity.

When you first place items in your safe deposit box, it must be locked using a padlock. We happily provide these locks free of charge or you can bring your own. This is because there is no access into our vault. Upon coming to visit your box, you must give us your client key allowing access into the housing units. Your client key, as well as our master key will allow the door to open. We will then remove your box and bring it out onto the shop floor and put it into our client’s room where you can access it in private. Once you are finished, you must lock the box up again, hand it to use, and we will secure it back into the housing units in our vault, lock the door and then hand your key back to you.

  • Is parking available?

We are lucky enough to be situated very close to a multi-storey car park.

St Giles Street multi-storey has over 300 spaces and is approximately a 30 seconds walk from our premises.

There is also parking along with the majority of St Giles Street with parking meters located at various points. The closest of which is hidden behind the Waffle House in the alley leading to Fishers Lane.

  • Who can access my box?

You are the only person who can access your safe deposit box unless you name a ‘Other Named Access’.

This is the term given to somebody who you agree may access your safety deposit box in your absence.

They are bound by the same strict identification processes that you are and must be present at the time of registration or accompany you to an appointment to complete this aspect of the registration process.

  • What happens if I lose my key?

You are issued with two client keys at the time of registration. They are identical keys and we only require one, coupled with our master key to access your box. If you loose one of these keys during your rental term and wish to end the contract, we are required to change the duel lock entirely meaning you will forfeit your key deposit.

If you loose both keys, we are forced to employ the services of a locksmith and drill out the lock. This also means you will not have your key deposit refunded.

  • I'm going on holiday for two weeks, can I rent a safe deposit box?

Absolutely! Taking out a short term, single access 30-day safety deposit box is a great idea if you are going on holiday.   Please get in touch with our team to discuss more details
