Vintage double daisy cluster ring
The diamond daisy ring was highly popular in the early 20th century. The evolution of this was the double diamond daisy cluster as seen here. Crafted in 18ct yellow gold and inevitably platinum, this ring likely dates to before the second world war. The lack of marks in due to restoration work in the past but strictly this would not have been independently hallmarked thanks to the presence of mixed metals.
Metal: 18ct and most likely platinum as was the norm when this ring was made.
Marks: Unmarked. Tests confirm 18ct gold and the white metal polished like platinum and required no rhodium plating which would have been required if the tops were white gold.
Measurements: 6.5mm wide spreading 13.8mm across the finger. 3.5mm rise from the finger.
Stones: Eight cut diamonds totalling approximately 0.24ct. Colour G/H, clarity VS.
Weight: 2.3 grams.
Condition: Some visible signs of its age in the form of flattening of the clusters. This is due most likely to being worn between or up against other rings for many decades.
Finger size: UK K - US & Canada 5 1/8.
