Product Details

A vintage diamond engagement ring circa 1930s/40s featuring a central Modern Brilliant cut diamond rising from graduating stepped shoulders. The main band of the ring know as the shank is crafted in 18ct yellow gold with the setting and gallery being made in platinum. A classic combination of two different colours of metal.

Metal: 18ct yellow gold and Platinum.

Marks: Stamped 18ct and Plat.

Measurements: 5.5mm wide at central diamond. The diamond shoulders graduated down from 2.5mm wide to 2mm wide at the shoulder. 2mm wide D shape shank.

Stones: The main centre diamond is a Modern Brilliant cut approximately 0.35ct. Colour J/K. Clarity Si2. Six old eight cut diamonds totalling approximately 0.06ct. Total diamond weight estimated at 0.41ct.

Weight: 2.94 grams.

Condition: Very good. Evidence of claws having been re-tipped. This is very common on rings of this age and is required for the security of the main diamond. It is also likely given the thickness of the shank that this has been built up at some point in the ring’s not too distance past. This was not done by us but it has been done to a very high standard.

Finger size: UK Q - USA & Canada 8.
