A Late Victorian sapphire and Diamond comprising of three oval faceted natural light blue sapphires interspaced with old rose cut diamonds. Hallmarked in the last year of the 19th Century at the Birmingham Assay Office, 1899. The light blue of the sapphires is complimented nicely by the warm richness of the 18ct gold it is crafted in.
Metal: 18ct gold.
Marks: LLC 18 Birmingham 1899.
Measurements: 7mm at its widest narrowing to 2.5mm at the back of the finger.
Stones: Oval faceted natural light blue sapphires. Old rose cut diamonds each approximately 0.01ct.
Weight: 3.8 grams.
Condition: Very good. The ring is not as heavy at the back of the finger as it once was. We do see these old rings regularly having been built up by means of replacing the whole shank. Doing this does mean the hallmark is lost. This ring retains its original hallmark which we would prefer to see.
