Originally links from a bracelet, this pendant is one of nine. The body of the scarab is made using two separate pieces of Lapis Lazuli, which are inlaid into the 18ct yellow gold. The date is yet to be confirmed, but the Egyptian marks indicate 18ct gold, which we have confirmed by XRF testing. Anecdotal evidence, however, suggests the piece dates to the mid-20th century.
Metal: 18ct yellow gold.
Marks: Egyptian marks found on the body of each scarab indicate a standard of 18ct. This particular mark is from the Cairo Assay Office.
Measurements: 15mm x 7.5mm (excluding the bale). The opening of the articulated bale is 3.5mm x 2.5mm. Please note the opening for a chain is fairly small and is only suitable for small fittings. Stones: Lapis Lazuli.
Weight: Each pendant weighs approximately 1.15 grams.
Condition: Very good. Some may show signs of age upon magnified inspection, all of which are commensurate with their vintage age. Please be aware that these pendants should not be worn when swimming or showering, as the inlaid Lapis Lazuli may not respond well to prolonged exposure to moisture.
