Oval opal two piece doublet. A doublet is a natural slice of opal cemented to a darker piece of opal which generally exhibits very little colour dispersion. This particular one appears a very early example.

Condition:
Very good. This is a traditional doublet ring from the 1930’s. Traditionally, they were used by layering two opal stones on top of each other. More modern doublets are made using three layers and a thin layer of opal in the middle with glass on top as a protecter for the stone. This was not a thing when this ring was made in the 30’s and so has a few chips around the edge of the opal. This is as to be expected of this age and style but its still in incredible condition and it is such a beautiful ring. We have priced accordingly.
