Victorian 18ct Pearl & Diamond Memorial Ring – SOLD

This beautiful Pearl & Diamond hair memorial ring crafted in 18ct gold from the Victorian age. A classic style of its Era. Many people from this time used jewellery to hold treasures of their loves ones and would have hair woven unto rings with initials and dates of death engraved on them. Some, like this unique ring, had a secret compartment where a tiny lock of hair would be kept from a lost loved one. The original hair can still be seen in this ring when opened up to reveal the compartment. The date ‘July 26 1893’ is engraved on the inside, most likely to signify the death of the loved one.

This is a beautiful unique piece of historic jewellery.

Excellent considering the age of the ring and that it still bares the original lock of hair. We have had to replace the glass window inside the ring with perspex so tho keep the hair from falling out. There are also signs of wear with a few scrffs visible in the images but this is to be expected.
