9ct Oxford Signet ring Seal engraved – RESERVED

£325.00

A 9ct Oxford signet ring engraved with a reverse seal crest. It is some form of creature being of lion’s body with a dog’s head or the head of a griffin. It does resemble close to the family crest of Talbot which consists of a talbot dog which is a type of hunting hound. Difficult to say for certain as engraver interpretation needs to be taken into account and the fact that it is nearly 60 years old, ever so slight wear has diminished the definition of the engraving. A lovely looking ring none the less with engraving which now would cost somewhere in the region of £250 to £300.
