9ct Masonic bloodstone signet ring

A cool gents ring set with an engraved piece of bloodstone bearing the square and compass emblem of the Freemasons. A ring that has been well loved and repaired over the years. The band and the head did not start life together I suspect. The ring was hallmarked before the shoulders were split and attached to the main body of this piece. This may well be due to the old shank wearing thin and another piece of jewellery being utilised to repair. A very common thing to have happened and something that still occurs today.

Hallmarked 9ct Birmingham 1877. Tests indicate the head to also be 9ct gold.

Very good. Slight Knicks to the bloodstone but nothing we would not expect. If it had been perfect we would suspect a new piece of bloodstone being used in an old ring.
