9ct & 15ct Cufflink Torpedo Ring-SOLD

A one-off ring, this was put together by ourselves in our Norwich workshop. Consisting of a gentleman’s cufflink fitting and an old ring shank from a signet ring we have ‘upcycled’ these otherwise mundane items to give a truly unique piece. The head is a hollow piece of 15ct gold whereas the shank is totally solid. Age-wise the torpedo sates back to before the 1930s. The ring band, however, is hallmarked 1964. It was created ‘in house’ late October 2018.

The ‘torpedo’ cufflink fitting is made of a slightly rose tinted 15ct gold. The main body of the ring is a 9ct hallmarked yellow gold shank and shoulders. Clearly visible in the pictures the two colours offer a pleasant contrast in real life.
The torpedo is stamped 15ct on the underneath where as the shank is fully hallmarked S&D Birmingham 1964.
he torpedo measures 25mm x 5.5mm (approximately). 6mm where the shoulder meets the head the ring tapers to 3mm at the back of the finger.
4.35 grams.
Excellent. Oddly the Torpedo has not a single dent in which were commonly found on these hollow items.
Finger size:
Approximately N.5. Because of the shape of the torpedo we are unable to get a precise ring measurement however by comparing it’s fit to other rings we are able to determine an approximately finger size of N.5.
