Victorian Micro-Mosaic Pendant
Description: This fantastic micro-mosaic pendant depicts St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. High carat gold mount testing as 18ct gold the micro mosaic work is set in a malachite foundation. Ultra fine mosaic work, the detail of this particular piece is one of the best examples of micro-mosaic work you are likely to see. With fine filigree gold work we have done very little to restore this item which dates from early to mid Victorian.
Metal: 18ct gold.
Stones: Malachite foundation to the small pieces of tesserae (glass) that make up the mosaic work.
Measurements: 51mm from the very to of the bale to the very bottom of the pendant. The pendant it’s measures 36mm in diameter and is approximately 8mm thick with a hollow back.
Weight: 12.32 grams.
Condition: Excellent given it’s age delicate mosaic work. We have done a simple laser repair to the bar that connects the bale to the pendant but other than that we have not touched it. Slight signs of wear as expected.
