Platinum Antique Engagement Ring - SOLD
Description: A superb hand made platinum ring circa first half of the 20th century. Truly unique and a one off piece, the signs of its original craftsman are still visible under magnification.
Metal: Tests indicate platinum.
Marks: Stamped PLAT.
Stones: Central old cut diamond approximately 0.75ct colour I-J clarity Vs. Each shoulder contains three graduating 8 cut diamonds 0.02ct - 0.015ct - 0.01ct approximately. Total diamonds weight approximately 0.83ct.
Measurements: At it’s widest the setting measures 6.2mm and stands 5.7mm tall thanks to the high table of the old cut diamond. 3.8mm shoulders taper slightly and then widen again thanks to a replacement shank - see condition report for further details.
Weight: 3.15 grams.

Condition: Excellent. The main band of the ring has been replaced, as is very common with antique rings. There is signs of a previous join. This was all done long ago however as we produced an insurance valuation in 1998 for this ring and everything was the same then as it is now. All in all this is a wonderful piece of hand made jewellery history.
