18ct White Gold Diamond Engagement Ring
Description: A fabulous vintage engagement ring, likely made in the UK sometime between the two wars. As so very common, the stones may well have been from another family piece and re-mounted as they are older style cuts. A central old cut diamond of approximately 0.35ct, closer to a cushion shape than a round shape. Excellent workmanship to this hand made mount with fine millgrain finish applied.
Metal: Tests indicate 18ct white gold.
Marks: Partial stamp which appears to have once said 18ct.
Stones: Central old cut diamond approximately 0.35ct - 0.40ct. Very hard to put a precise carat weight because of the irregularity of the cutting. In each corner of the table of the ring are a single very tall old cut diamond. Down each shoulder are three rose cuts, a simple flat bottom diamond with three or more facets to the top. One of these is a replacement and has been replaced with an old cut diamond.
Measurements: The table of the ring measures approximately 6.5mm x 7mm and stands about 5mm proud of the finger.
Weight: 2.7 grams.
Finger size: I.5 (a small size with scope to go up a few sizes).
Condition: A replacement shank has been applied in it’s past as well as a replacement diamond to one shoulder but all in all a wonderful piece in great condition.
