18ct Vintage Diamond Ring
Description: This sweet little three stone diamond ring is typically Edwardian. Three diamonds rubover set in platinum with pierced galleries. This has in its past had a far more substantial shank made as the ring is far chunkier that I would have been originally.
Metal: Tests indicate 18ct gold.
Marks: Unmarked. Thank to platinum settings this ring would not have been able to be hallmarked thanks to mixed metals.
Stones: Three diamonds approximately 0.24ct overall.
Measurements: 3.6mm wide at the centre setting. Knife edge shoulder widening to 3mm at the back of the finger.
Weight: 3.11 grams.
Finger size: L.5
Condition: Good. The shank shows signs of its manufacture in the form of minor blow holes. These occur when metal is melted in open air. Chances are it’s previous owner used some old rings and had them melted together allowing a goldsmith to draw out a new piece to apply the heavy new shank.
