18ct Sapphire and Diamond Chester 1904 - SOLD
Description: This beautiful sapphire and diamond carved half hoop ring features three sapphires of excellent colour - the pictures really unfortunately do not do it justice. What would have been described as Ceylon sapphires they are most likely from Sri Lanka given the age of the ring. This ring is hand made throughout and as original as you could ever hope to find. The condition of the carving on the edges is impeccable given the age. Usually we see these type of rings with at least one side worn away thanks to being placed next to another ring on the finger.
Metal: 18ct gold.
Marks: Chester hallmark for 1904 - missing makers / sponsors mark.
Stones: Three beautiful natural sapphires with four 0.02ct old cut diamonds.
Measurements: 5.5mm wide at the setting standing approximately 4mm proud from the finger. 2mm wide at the shoulders tapering slightly to 1.5mm at the back of the finger.
Weight: 3.1 grams.
Finger size: L.
Condition: Excellent condition. The claws have been retipped by ourselves using the latest laser techniques to avoid any damage to the sapphires. This work was required for the security of the stones. Other than that the rest of the ring is as it would have been in 1904.
