18ct & PLAT Emerald & Diamond Ring
Description: This emerald and diamond three stone, despite being vintage, has a very contemporary design about it. Simple four claw settings to each of the gemstones, the diamond claws are arranged in an abnormal format for a three stone ring. Locating the claws securing the diamonds in the north south east west locations makes this ring really stand out from the rest. We are unable to date this ring precisely but would imagine it to be of early 1970s late 1960s.
Metal: 18ct yellow gold with platinum claws to the diamonds.
Marks: 18ct. PLAT.
Stones: Old mine cut diamonds each approximately 0.12ct with a central emerald cut emerald 3.7mm x 2.5mm.
Measurements: The head of the ring spreads 11.5mm across the finger and is just shy of 5mm wide. A tall setting it stands 5.2mm proud of the finger. 2.1mm uniformed D shape shank.
Weight: 3 grams.
Finger size: Q.5.
Condition: This ring is in excellent condition. The diamonds have slight knicks to the girdle. Fairly conducive to old cut stones that have been remodelled later on in their life which is what we suspect has happened to these diamonds. All in all however the ring is in excellent condition. A must see piece.
