1.42ct Antique European Cut Diamond Ring
Description: A superb ring featuring an old 1.42ct Antique European Cut diamond modelled in 18ct yellow gold. Simple in design and manufacture this ring works both as a gentleman’s signet ring or a ladies statement piece.
Metal: 18ct yellow gold.
Marks: Stamped 18ct with a manufacturer’s number of 6734 - however the shank has been replaced with a heavy gauge of metal as the origin band will have worn thin thanks to decades of wear.
Stones: Antique European Cut natural diamond of approximately 1.42ct. Assessed as colour G/H, clarity I1. The diamond is included but a very good colour with excellent fire and brilliance. Despite being surrounded in yellow gold the diamond draws none of this colour and remains a bright white stone.
Measurements: 12mm wide at the widest measurement. Heavy 4mm wide D shape shank.
Weight: 8.8 grams.
Finger size: O.
Condition: The shank has been replaced. This is very common with antique rings. The shank used to build up this ring is a great gauge giving substance and weight to the ring. All in all an excellent ring in superb condition.
